Greetings. I would like to highly recommend the articles of Father Walter Farrell, O.P. He was a truly great Dominican Priest who had the extraordinary gift of being able to explain the writings of Saint Thomas Aquinas -- particularly, the Summa Theologica - in layman's language. Although his work spoken of here -- The Companion to the Summa -- was written in the late 1930's to early 1940's it is more timely than ever.

 

If you have the time, it is well worth your checking into these wonderful articles which has done us all a great favour in putting these pearls of wisdom from Saint Thomas Aquinas readily in front of us in a very readable way.

 

If you do not have a lot of time -- read through the Chapter 1 of Volume 2 which deals with HAPPINESS the goal of human life.
